The latest artwork series by Tawatchai Somkong is presented in the Exhibition ?Core of Crisis? which is about CHANGE in our world. His works are influenced by global environmental change which is slowly damaging our climate and is quietly and incrementally approaching a stage of crisis. Most of us know about it well but choose to ignore what is happening around us.

?The information about environment status is not brand new, but it becomes unresolved chronic problems.? There are lots of seminars and conferences at the local and the international level to find out solutions.? Finally, it is only information for announcement.? The work series, Core of Crisis, explains the change of the world, loss of balance, estimation of future phenomena and hope of humankind. For example in the artwork ? Lost Balance? tells about results from climate change situation, destruction of capacity to balance. The female symbol is used to represent emergence.? Yellow, red and blue colour used by political movement outside formal parliamentary system in Thai society are depicted the breakdown of harmony and balance. Nowadays much information about climate change is widespread through many media types.? Many people know about it, but many quietly choose to ignore and not be responsible. This then maybe the heart of crisis happened in the world.?

Tawatchai Somkong is an established name in the Thai art scene; his works are easily recognizable and have amazed viewers through the use of profound symbolism, strong colors and dynamic painting. The artist communicates with universal elements such as earth, water, wind, fire, wave, femininity and masculinity.? It?s about the world where we live, and the nature and the power within it.
